Product Identification
• Generic Name: Benzyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride Solution
• Strength: 10% w/v (100 mg Benzyltrimethylammonium Chloride per mL)
• Package: 1 L per bottle
Composition
Each mL contains 100 mg Benzyl Trimethyl Ammonium Chloride as active ingredient. Excipients: Non-ionic surfactant, chelating agent, purified water.
Description
Colorless clear liquid, foams easily when shaken, with slight characteristic odor.
Pharmacological Action
A cationic quaternary ammonium disinfectant with contact bactericidal action. It adsorbs on microbial cell surfaces, disrupts cell membrane structure, causes leakage of intracellular substances and inactivates key enzymes, leading to bacterial death.
• Spectrum: Strong bactericidal effect on Gram-positive bacteria; moderate activity against Gram-negative bacteria, some fungi and enveloped viruses, with additional cleaning and decontamination effects.
Indications
For disinfection of livestock and poultry houses, breeding equipment, feeding utensils, transport vehicles and work clothing; also used for skin and hand disinfection of farm personnel.
Dosage & Administration
Dilute with clean water before use.
1. Routine environmental & facility disinfection: Dilute 1:200, spray or wipe, contact for 30 minutes.
2. Epidemic period disinfection: Dilute 1:100, spray thoroughly, contact for 60 minutes, once daily.
3. Equipment & utensil disinfection: Dilute 1:300, soak for 30 minutes.
4. Skin & hand disinfection: Dilute 1:100, wash or wipe.
Adverse Reactions
Mild irritation to skin and mucous membranes at high concentrations; no systemic toxicity at working concentration.
Contraindications
1. Hypersensitivity to quaternary ammonium compounds.
2. Do not mix with anionic detergents, soaps, iodides and oxidizing agents.
Precautions
1. For external use only. Oral administration is prohibited.
2. Avoid contact with eyes. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
3. Bactericidal effect decreases in the presence of heavy organic matter; clean surfaces thoroughly before disinfection.
4. Slightly corrosive to aluminum products; prolonged soaking is not recommended.
5. Operators shall wear protective gloves during preparation and use.
6. Keep out of reach of children.
Storage
Store in tightly sealed container, in a cool dry place, protected from light.
