Description
Pale pink film-coated tablets.
Pharmacological Action
Broad-spectrum compound anthelmintic with complementary mechanisms:
• Oxyclozanide: A salicylanilide flukicide that uncouples parasite oxidative phosphorylation, inhibits ATP production and impairs energy metabolism, highly effective against adult and immature liver flukes (Fasciola spp.) and paramphistomes.
• Tetramisole Hydrochloride: An imidazothiazole nematocide that acts as a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist, inducing sustained muscle contraction and spastic paralysis of nematodes, resulting in expulsion from the gastrointestinal tract.
• The combination expands antiparasitic coverage and achieves simultaneous control of nematodes and liver flukes in ruminants.
Indications
For the treatment and control of mixed infections of gastrointestinal nematodes, lungworms and liver flukes in cattle, sheep and goats.
Dosage & Administration
For oral administration.
• Cattle: 1 tablet per 50 kg body weight, single dose.
• Sheep & Goats: 1 tablet per 30 kg body weight, single dose.
Adverse Reactions
1. Mild gastrointestinal disturbances: salivation, soft stool, transient anorexia.
2. High doses may cause cholinergic symptoms: tremor, bradycardia, abdominal discomfort.
3. Rare hypersensitivity reactions.
Contraindications
1. Hypersensitivity to oxyclozanide, tetramisole or any excipient.
2. Animals with severe hepatic or renal impairment.
3. Not for use in lactating dairy animals producing milk for human consumption.
