Deltamethrin Solution
Aquatic Insecticide Solution
Product Identification
• Generic Name: Deltamethrin Emulsifiable Solution
• Strength: 2.5% w/v (25 mg Deltamethrin per mL)
• Package: 1 L per bottle
Composition
Each mL contains 25 mg Deltamethrin as active ingredient. Excipients: Emulsifier, organic solvent, piperonyl butoxide synergist.
Description
Clear light yellow to yellow oily liquid with faint aromatic odor; forms stable milky emulsion when diluted with water.
Pharmacological Action
Deltamethrin is an ultra-potent type II pyrethroid insecticide. It acts on voltage-gated sodium channels in insect nerve cell membranes, delaying sodium channel closure, causing sustained nerve depolarization, repeated discharges and convulsive paralysis, leading to rapid death of parasites and aquatic pests.
• Pest spectrum: Highly effective against fish ectoparasites including Argulus, Lernaea, Sinergasilus, and harmful aquatic organisms such as dragonfly nymphs, water scorpions, water centipedes and tadpole shrimps in freshwater ponds.
Indications
For prevention and control of ectoparasitic infestations (fish lice, anchor worms) and harmful aquatic insect pests in freshwater fish farming.
Dosage & Administration
Dilute thoroughly with clean water and splash evenly across the entire pond.
• Routine treatment: 0.015–0.03 mL of solution per cubic meter of water (final concentration 0.375–0.75 μg/L deltamethrin).
• Severe infestation: 0.03–0.05 mL per m³.
• Use the lower end of dosage range for fry ponds and shallow water bodies.
Adverse Reactions
1. No obvious adverse reaction in fish at recommended dosage.
2. Overdose may cause neurological symptoms: hyperactivity, convulsions, loss of balance and coma.
Contraindications
1. Hypersensitivity to pyrethroid compounds.
2. EXTREMELY TOXIC to shrimp, crab, crayfish, lobster and all crustaceans. STRICTLY PROHIBITED in crustacean ponds and polyculture systems containing crustaceans.
3. Not for marine aquaculture use.
Precautions
1. For aquaculture external use only.
2. Do not mix with alkaline pesticides or fertilizers — pyrethroids decompose rapidly under alkaline conditions.
3. Deltamethrin is highly potent; extremely accurate water volume calculation is mandatory to avoid mass mortality.
4. Maintain continuous aeration during and after application. Do not use in hypoxic water bodies.
5. Toxic to bees, silkworms and aquatic invertebrates. Prevent contamination of natural waterways.
6. Operators shall wear protective clothing, gloves and goggles.
7. Keep out of reach of children.
Withdrawal Period
• Edible fish: 14 days before harvest.
Storage
Store in tightly sealed original container, protected from light and heat, in a cool dry place. Keep away from fire and alkaline substances.
