Product Identification
• Generic Name: Chlorthiamine Tablets
• Strength: 100 mg Chlorthiamine per tablet
• Package: 10 tablets per blister
Composition
Each tablet contains 100 mg Chlorthiamine as active ingredient. Excipients: Lactose, corn starch, dextrin, magnesium stearate, film coating premix.
Description
Pale yellow film-coated tablets.
Pharmacological Action
Chlorthiamine is a thiamine analogue anticoccidial agent. It competitively inhibits thiamine metabolism in coccidia, blocks carbohydrate metabolism and energy production, and inhibits the development of schizonts during the asexual reproductive stage of coccidia.
• Spectrum: Effective against all major pathogenic Eimeria species in chickens and turkeys, including E. tenella, E. necatrix, E. maxima, E. acervulina.
• Pharmacokinetics: Rapidly absorbed orally; distributed in intestinal mucosa and liver; metabolized and excreted mainly via urine.
Indications
For the prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in chickens, turkeys and other poultry.
Dosage & Administration
For oral administration, administered individually or mixed with feed.
• Treatment: 20–30 mg chlorthiamine per kg body weight, once daily for 3–5 consecutive days.
• Prevention: 100–200 mg chlorthiamine per 100 kg of complete feed, continuous administration during the risk period.
Adverse Reactions
1. No adverse reactions at recommended dosage.
2. Long-term overdose may cause thiamine deficiency symptoms and growth depression.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to chlorthiamine.
Precautions
1. Strictly follow the recommended dosage and course of treatment.
2. Withdraw medication 5 days before slaughter to avoid drug residue.
3. For veterinary use only. Keep out of reach of children.
Withdrawal Period
• Meat: Chicken 5 days; Turkey 7 days
Storage
Store in sealed blister, protected from light, in a cool dry place.
