Product Identification
• Generic Name: Albendazole and Ivermectin Tablets
• Strength: Each tablet contains Albendazole 200 mg + Ivermectin 6 mg
• Package: 10 tablets per blister
Composition
Active ingredients per tablet: Albendazole 200 mg, Ivermectin 6 mg. Excipients: Microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, polysorbate 80, magnesium stearate.
Description
Light blue film-coated tablets.
Pharmacological Action
Compound anthelmintic with synergistic effect:
• Albendazole: Benzidimidazole that kills nematodes, tapeworms and flukes by inhibiting tubulin synthesis and energy metabolism.
• Ivermectin: Macrocyclic lactone that acts on glutamate-gated chloride channels of nematodes and arthropods, causing nerve paralysis and death. It is highly effective against internal nematodes and external parasites such as mites, lice and ticks.
• Combined use expands antiparasitic spectrum and improves efficacy against mixed endo- and ectoparasite infections.
Indications
For treatment and control of mixed parasitic infections in cattle, sheep, goats and swine:
1. Internal parasites: gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, tapeworms, liver flukes
2. External parasites: sarcoptic mange, lice, ticks, grubs
Dosage & Administration
Oral administration.
• Cattle: 1 tablet per 50 kg body weight (equivalent to 4 mg/kg albendazole + 0.12 mg/kg ivermectin), single dose.
• Sheep & Goats: 1 tablet per 40 kg body weight, single dose.
• Swine: 1 tablet per 35 kg body weight, single dose.
Adverse Reactions
1. Mild transient diarrhea or lethargy in heavily parasitized animals.
2. Rare hypersensitivity in individual animals.
Contraindications
1. Hypersensitivity to albendazole, ivermectin or any excipient.
2. Contraindicated in animals with severe hepatic impairment.
3. Not recommended for puppies, lambs or piglets under 3 months of age.
Precautions
1. Use with caution in pregnant animals; strictly follow recommended dosage.
2. Do not administer to dairy cows in lactation for human consumption.
3. For veterinary use only. Keep out of reach of children.
Withdrawal Period
• Meat: Cattle 28 days; Sheep/Goats 21 days; Swine 20 days
• Milk: Not for use in lactating dairy animals.
Storage
Store in sealed blister, protected from light and moisture, below 25°C.
